Art in Russia: The Kruschev era and beyond
Following on from our studies of the art of the Russian revolution and its aftermath in the Soviet Union of Stalin, Mark will lead us into the artistic movements of the Cold War and present day Russia.
Saturday 1st February, Study Day with Zara Fleming
Buddhism and Buddhist Art of the Himalayas and Tibet
Zara, an independent art consultant, researcher, lecturer and exhibition curator, has been travelling in Asia since 1973. She will introduce us to Buddhism and the transmission of Buddhist Art as well as the symbolism of Tibetan Art and the vibrant culture of this part of the world.
Saturday 28th March, Study Day with Leslie |Pitcher
Leonardo da Vinci, Paintings and Drawings
We will study Leonardo’s revolutionary innovations in structure and brushwork, along with his scientific and artistic theories.
Saturday 23rd May, Study Day with Leslie Pitcher.
Painting in Scotland 1600-1900
Native Scottish artists are frequently unknown but we will seek to rectify this with portraits by Ramsey and Raeburn, landscapes and vivid scenes from Scottish history and daily life up to the Glasgow Boys.
