BACK TO VOLUNTEER

Heath Robinson's works take away all the sad times.

When I retired after 20 years working in retail, I was asking myself what I was going to do with my spare time.

I wanted to give something back to the community to say thank you for the fabulous time my family and I have had here in Harrow. In my country (Colombia) there is no opportunity to do voluntary work after retirement, so I am very lucky.

A friend of mine suggested that the Heath Robinson Museum needs volunteers, so I decided to apply, and I haven’t regretted one minute. I have learnt a lot from the humorous works, especially the ones about the First and Second World Wars. Heath Robinson's works take away all the sad times; his work always has something to laugh about and all the mechanical models are fascinating. Working at the museum is also a good opportunity to make new friends.
