In 2026 the Museum celebrates its 10th anniversary. Since 2016 we have welcomed more than 40,000 visitors, engaged 100 volunteers, held 33 popular temporary exhibitions, and reached more than 50,000 people through our events.
However, it costs £320,000 each year to run the Museum and its programmes. We receive no government or local authority funding for these costs and are entirely dependent on earned income and donations. We are launching a special appeal to raise £10,000 in our anniversary year. Of this, donations from the Friends of the Heath Robinson Museum will support our new exhibition The Genie, opening on 7 November, for which there is a £5,000 target.
Other donations help by supporting: free entry for people in need; environmental monitoring to ensure our artworks on display remain in a good condition; producing short guides for our temporary exhibitions; promoting our exhibitions on social media; our learning programme; and our volunteer programme.
We hope you will support our 10th anniversary appeal and help the Museum so that we can ensure the Museum continues to thrive as a local hub for culture and creativity.
