Join us for a free family fun day in beautiful Pinner Memorial Park as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Heath Robinson Museum and the opening of our major anniversary exhibition, Unseen.
From 11am–3pm, children aged 14 and under can enjoy a packed programme of creative activities inspired by the imagination, invention, and playful spirit of William Heath Robinson.
Help bring a giant display of outdoor portraits to life by drawing your own additions and embellishments, decorate large cardboard steam engines and castles, or build a wonderfully wacky vehicle from recycled materials before racing it down our junk-modelling track.
Create your own hot-air balloon inspired by Heath Robinson’s beloved Uncle Lubin, challenge friends to giant inflatable volleyball, and discover the art of wartime planning with Bentley Priory Museum’s replica Battle of Britain strategy table.
Artist Tim Ellis will be demonstrating his remarkable locomotive sculpture: a 5-gauge model train inspired by Heath Robinson’s drawings for the book Railway Ribaldry. Visitors will also have the chance to ride the train for a small donation at a point during the fair, with timings to be confirmed. (Track kindly loaned by the North London Society of Model Engineers.)
Inside the Verden Event Rooms, in the adjoining West House, visitors can explore a special free exhibition featuring work by two of the Museum’s former Artists in Residence, Charlotte Harker and Harinder Sahota.
Whether you’re an aspiring inventor, a budding artist or simply looking for a fun and affordable family day out, there’s plenty to enjoy as we mark ten years of the Heath Robinson Museum with a day full of creativity, discovery and celebration.
