Information for participants

During the workshop you will be shown how to create a screen print using a stencil. We will work on a small scale so you can create a simple repeat on your fabric.

You will have the choice of printing onto a tote bag, a tea towel or a fat quarter of fabric; these will be provided. A fat quarter is a piece of fabric which measures 75 x 50cm and can be used in sewing projects. You may get time to print up a second item, so please bring some extra fabric (washed and pressed) with you for this.

Before you come, think about what kind of motif / shape you'd like to use on your stencil to create your pattern, max size 8cm x 8cm. You'll need to have a solid shape for your stencil, so keep this in mind.

Please bring an apron and wear something you don't mind getting a little ink on; it’s not very messy, but you never know. You'll also need to bring an old credit card / gift card which we will use as a squeegee.
